Class 1 Experience and Equivalency
This course allows amateur drivers to take a condensed version of the Class 1 Training if they have 2 years of documented Class 3 driving experience.
- To take the experience and equivalency program, drivers must.
- Have a valid alberta class 3 driver’s licence.
- Have held an aberta class 3 driver’s licence or the equivalent driver’s licence from another canadian jurisdiction for 2 or more years.
- Have 2 or more years of work experience operating a motor vehicle with 3 or more axles (vehicles that require at least a class 3 license to drive).
- Apply to the government to have their experience verified.
- Submit the application form with requested documentation of experience
Course Details:
This course is taught only on 13 and 18-speed manuals. It includes:
- 11 hours of classroom training.
- 9 hours driving time
- 13.5 hours of ‘off-road’ manoeuvres (couple/uncouple, backing)
- 6.5 hours of “in-yard” training (inspection activities)
